ANNE FRANK

OUTSIDE LOOKING IN

1995
Photographic Editions: Archival Ink on Cotton Rag
Original Assemblage: Sold through Terrain Gallery, SF

'Anne Frank Outside Looking In' was an assemblage I shot on top of Corona Heights in SF with my 4x5 camera. The stones placed on top, symbolize the tradition of jews placing stones on top of a grave, to show that they have visited. My print of 'Anne Frank Outside Looking In' is in the permanent collection of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. In 2009, Dr. Batya Brutin discovered my piece in the archives of the Anne Frank House and placed it in a show celebrating what would have been her 80th birthday, called 'Anne Frank in the Artists Eyes'. The show took place at the famed Rumbach-Synagogue in Budapest, Hungary.
